Frame angles for TT bikes

Hey all I was just out looking at frame head and seat tube angles for TT bikes not tri bike. Now Trek is about the only company that makes a “TT” bike ala Lance, and it’s TT frame is 73.9 head tube and 73.7 seat tube.

Now that’s almost the same as my Jamis Comet I have set up for TT’s

Do we know what works best for TT’s since I don’t have to run after I ride?

Most all the rest of the TT Tri frames out there have a much steeper seat tube.

What is the most powerful if your not worried about running

Dan…

What is the most powerful if your not worried about running

there is simply no consensus of any kind, scientific or otherwise. but steeper than 74 is likely to be better for most people, but this is opinion, not science.

While nothing is written in stone, steeper is gernally better. The reason Lance and other tour riders don’t go steeper is because UCI rules limit how steep they can be (has to do with tip of saddle/bottom bracket relationship).

That being said, you will see some tour riders riding steep with the nose of a saddle cut off to stay within the rules.
