How would you feel if a fracking company set up shop within 1 mile of your home? Would you be worried about well water?
Nope, but then again I get my water from Lake Michigan.
nope and they’ve fracked the living shit out of this place.
Yes.
I wouldn’t be worried about the water, but I would have concerns about noise, emissions and vibrations.
Yes, and possibly earthquakes.
Don’t have a well although my inlaws have an artesian well. I have no idea if any fracking takes place near Bobcaygeon.
I can tell you that their water tastes great.

On city water from the Great Lakes. But my concern would be around Govt. regulations within my state, and the State rules on open ponds those things are really bad.

No, a fracked well done correctly should have no impact on a ground water well. However, I’ve seen a few wells in Weld County done wrong.

Hydraulic fracturing makes over 60% of domestic oil and natural gas extraction, mostly natural gas (which used to be considered “green”).
There is fracking happening 5 miles from my house (in Santa Barabara!). Right now (yes, this very instant) I’m testing a fuel tank at a facility in SB County that is conducting a fracking operation. I’m standing right on top of it.
Fracking has been going on in SB for decades. We just had a vote to keep or ban it. The voters said keep it (63%). The dire predictions of the ban fracking were exposed as bs because it’s been going on for so long with no evidence of any problems.
Do I want an oil operation a mile from my house? No. But I don’t want a theme park or nfl stadium either.
Much more concerned with the waste water.
Would you be worried about well water?
Yes. There’s a reason they keep what they’re putting in there secret.
I’d like know who’s willing to forego heating and lighting their home, cooking their food and driving cars (or taking public transportion) so we don’t dont have to frack anymore.
Anyone? Hello? Anyone out there?
Agreed
Drinking water is something that people ignore the safety issues of, until their water isn’t safe to drink.
17 years ago an old boss kept bitching about how the state of Maryland should cut taxes and refund the rainy day fund. The next month the Pfiesteria outbreak happened and the first words out of his mouth were that the state should have been studying this and kept our water safe.

I’d actually think about giving up heating, lighting, driving and cooking every once in a while if I could frack more often.

To be honest I would have to study it more but I suspect I would have zero problem with it. I just don’t enough about the process and potential dangers to say either way at this point and since no one is thinking about starting up anywhere near me it’s just not an issue for me.

It’s been proven that when there’s a power outage a lot more fracking goes on (and 9 months later there’s a bunch of new little polluters fouling things up).
Nope, but then again I get my water from Lake Michigan.
Member of the flat earth society?
Fuck fracking.

No. I’m a lot more concerned about what would happen if we had to stop fracking.
