I’m in love. http://www.bianchiusa.com/crono.html# nice price and weight too. I have an EV3 and if this feels as rock solid as that I’m sold. They went overboard and too light for a while which caused some frames to crack, but the EV3 is pretty beefy. I noticed they also managed to keep the head tube very small. Not hard to locate a Celeste colored bike in the transition rack either. I would have like 2 bottle holders and a drool cup. Let’s see what I can sell to get this in the garage. Bummed Jan moved on as it will take shots of the back of the peloton before I get to see my beloved manufacturer in action. New wheels, new frame, new gruppo, I hate that I fall short in the money department just buying the word new.
The frame is very similar and I wonder if one company is making all of them. There is another italian company, Boeris, who makes a very similar frame. Nice graphics on that one.
I’ve got 3 teammates (the defending Oregon TTT champions–Cat 3, 2nd fastest overall time of day) riding the Abici Time Machines. Here are my thoughts:
Decent bike (well-manufactured)
Nice price
Marginal company (they advertised the bikes came with Aero forks and even show aero forks on the website, but all my teammates received Ouzo Pro Non-Aero Forks and not much support when they complained).
With that said, spec the bike and actually deliver it with an Alpha Q Aero or an Ouzo Pro Aero and you’ve got a very good bike at a good price. The paint is solid, the welds adequate, and the design acceptable…They should add horizontal dropouts like on the track version to really have a winner.
