Forks and handling

My roadie turned tt has an Ouzo Pro with a fair amount of rake to it, but I was wondering if anyone could explain the difference one might feel by going to some of the straight leg forks. What in essence does this do to handling?

Mine handles fine, but one has to consider it was built around a 72.5* STA with a much different center of gravity. It just fits so damn well and is comfy that I can’t imagine dumping it…except maybe a fork sometime.

Thx

curve /= rake
rake is also known as offset - of the fork tips from a line through the steerer.
so you can have curved forks with 35mm of offset (not much curve) and straight forks with 53mm of offset.
If you look at MTB forks you’ll see that most of the offset happens at the crown - rather than distributed along the length as on a road fork.
Your bike likely has 43mm or 45mm rake/offset to match that 72.5* - which will be just fine.
