Fork Upgrade Question

I have a road bike that I want to upgrade the front end from a threaded headset to a threadless.

My current leanings are to go w/ an easton fork, King headset, stem TBD when fitting comes into play and a new handle bar.

My questions are how do I determine the best fork rake for the bike?

What is anyone’s opinion on the bar I should get? Not opposed to carbon per se, but want to know it’s not going to crack out from under me on a big climb. Also for the bars I don’t want to pay the top of the line price for them so you can leave out the $350+ bars.

I don’t do triathlons on this bike, it’s strictly my roadie, I have been thinking of doing some road racing next season though.

Buy a fork with the same rake as what you have (assuming you like the handling). And make sure the crown height is the same, so that you aren’t lowering your front end. Fork replacement is not like replacing a crank or derailleur. The fork is an integral part of the bikes geometry, and the fork that is on your bike is, assuming you have a decent bike, on there for a reason.

I got a nice set of carbon Kestrel EMS Pro bars for sale. 44cm. Slightly used. You can use clip-on bars on this handlebar if you are so inclined. $75 includes shipping if you want it. If you need a different size, the EMS pro is a great, reasonably priced bar. Sells new for like $130.

I did a little research last night and figured out that the fork I have has a 1" steerer tube and a 40MM rake and 6160 T6 crowns. 6160 refers to the aluminum used to make it I’m pretty sure but I’m not familuar w/ the T6 part. The fork I’m considering getting is an Easton EC90, the rake on that is 43MM and says nothing on the website about the crowns.
