I seem to be really bad with rechareable devices. It only took me about a year to totally wreck the battery in my Canon Digital Elph. Am I begging for disappointment if I buy the 201, or is it’s battery pretty robust?
Also, is it overkill–ie am I going to be frustrated with it and wish I had a plain ole watch instead?
I haven’t had any problems and it has been through quite a few charge cycles. Not to mention the first 10 months of its life was being recharged of off generator power and sometimes convertor 220 generator power on top of that.
I wouldn’t get it as a replacement for just a watch but as a secondary tool. If you plan on wearing it around more than just working out then it would be overkill. Make sure you update the software at Garmin’s site with the free downloads if it doesn’t come with the latest info.
I am an “information” dork so I like to gather the data from my workouts and it is perfect for that.
