For those not watching baseball

White Sox on top of the Angels 8-2 in the 8th.

Astros beat the Cards 4-3 earlier today.

White Sox win 8-2. Three straight complete games from their starting pitchers which hasn’t happened since the '70s I think.

I want to see Astros vs Sox World Series so that the Yankees can see all their castoff pitchers in World Series. Unlike their fine purchases of Pavano, Wright and Johnson who are watching from home. Pavano, Wright & Johnson? Isn’t that one of those law firms that advertizes in the NYC subway?

I just want to point out that it looked like the the nail was in the Cardinals’ coffin last year when Kent won Game 5 with a walk-off homer giving the 'Stros a 3-2 series lead. Edmonds hit a walk-off in Game 6 to tie up the series, and we (Cardinals) won Game 7 and then went to the … well, we won’t talk about the buzz-saw we ran into at the world series.

And the Cardinals finally scored on Brad “Friggin” Lidge … something like 30 scoreless innings against us.

The Sox sure are taking advantage of the Game 2 cheapy. I think it’s awesome. Media and fans in this area have been all gloom-n-doom about the white sox. “Their pitching can’t last”, “they’re gonna collapse”, “the should have let Celeveland win”, “they’ll never beat the Angel’s pitching” “they’ll never win without Magglio” … well, guess what … They did. They have. They are.

I understand. When you live in a city that features the Cubs (worst franchise in sports, next to the Clippers) and the Bears (Hey, wanna talk about 1985 again?) … you’re just waiting for something bad to happen.

I’m still holding out for an I-55 series. Cards v. ChiSox. Heck I hope they do a throwback jersey game at Comiskey. I wanna see Chicago’s (1981-1985) old red, white and blue unis and St. Louis’s powder blue away jerseys from 79-84. Everyone will think their color has gone bad in the TV.

There IS Baseball?

There IS Baseball?
What is baseball?

I’m happy that the astros won. Each of the past 3 years Morgan Ensberg (the 3rd baseman) comes to my facility as a guest while visiting his aunt and uncle who live here. Super nice guy, you would think he was a triathlete by how nice he is.
