The worrying thing is that the streamline plot is wrong.
They’ve also missed out on fairing the cleat which seems plain stupid to me. If you want to design an aero bike of kit, eliminate the draggy bits, don’t just make it look aero.
Puts a new meaning into “All Carbon”!
I wonder if it’s comfortable?
Oh, and you wouldn’t want to trot through transition wearing them would you?
Leave them clipped on the bike at all times. (or would standing on the top of these shoes crack them?)
Perhaps the holy grail in triathlon is a shoe that’s integrated with the pedal and doesn’t come off.

I don’t think the carbon upper is used for the aero benefits. it is more of a stiffness issue. For years manufacturers improved the carbon sole making it stiffer but the uppers remained same. No matter what material they used if expanded in time. Today lorica holds the balance between comfort and power transfer but it is not perfect. Ski boot approach on these shoes can solve the problem but only applications like track racing where airflow to feet and comfort for long time is not required.
The problem I see with these shoes from a tri standpoint is that they are only available in a lace up version. Have fun getting those on heading out of transition.
They state in the write up that aerodynamics includes the “cleat deflector”.
Bont is a long time maker of speedskates, both inline and ice. Short track ice speedskates need to be very stiff. As the cornering forces approach 1and3/4 “G’s”.

Ah, sorry didn’t see that. Then again, I don’t see anything on the bottom of the shoe…
