Swim a 2km on 120 pace
800 kick no fins on 2min base
Or
5x200 Im on 3
I’ve improved my kick and just trying to understand what most kids can do who may be better kickers to endurance swimmers relatively

My swimmer can do 100s LCM on 1:20 all day.
5 x 200 IMs on 3:00 would be even easier.
800 kick would be doable, but definitely harder than the others.
Translating all this to yards for myself, same answer. But all of it would be hard for me in yards.
Thanks for the write back
The reason I ask is as I was looking at a squad standards on a page and it said they expect this
Swimmers in this squad are able to cope with a minimum load of e.g.10x100fs on 1.20 cycle. 10x100IM on 1.30 cycle. 800’k’@ SUB 14.00 (1.45 base) 800’p’@ 10.00 (1.15), 3000m TT 38.00 minutes. Swimmers must fulfil regular physiological testing
I 145 base kick is hell even compared to the 38 3km. The 38 3km is beyond me but I could do the swim, IM and pull easy. The kick, no way.
Reckon you could kick yards on 145? My best 100 kick scm is 140 atm
If I relate this to yards, the kicking is very easy for me, the 2k would be done at 1k at best, and the IM’s would be done on #3 for me. So I suppose the IM’s would be the hardest, at least the kick set I could get through easily…
But when I was your age I could do both pretty easily(yards and SCM), the IM’s a tad bit harder
Thanks. Scm It’s only recently i can manage the kicking whereas I could do the free and IM awhile ago. Interesting how different people have different attributes as far as kicking goes
