he very first wheel that Zipp made was a disc. Zipp has been perfecting the disc for over 2 decades. World class athletes, including Ironman champions and Tour de France yellow jerseys, win with Zipp discs.
Zipp. Knows. Disc. Wheels.
Now that we are on the same page, let me introduce you to the fastest Zipp disc wheel ever. The Zipp Super 9 Disc Wheel Clincher Shimano/Sram 11sp. Wait…clincher? What? There is no way that a clincher is faster than a tubular… right? Well, it upsets quite a bit of cycling heritage when I say this, wind tunnel testing often does, but in terms of lowest rolling resistance and outright aerodynamics the clincher is faster. Heavier, but faster.
The latest Super 9 Disc Wheel Clincher from Zipp takes the crown in another category as well. This new disc has the highest “coolness-to-weight” ratio thanks to Zipp’s “Impress Technology”. The stunning Zipp graphics are printed directly onto the carbon instead of using decals. This process decreases the weight, increases the overall durability and makes for one amazing looking disc.
The answer to the Super 9’s performance achievement is in the transition from tire to rim. With the Super 9 carbon clincher, Zipp is able to carefully shape the brake track to make this transition smoother, giving it a huge aerodynamic advantage. A technique that is not possible with a tubular wheel. It is also possible to produce thin clincher tires with lower rolling resistance than any road-capable tubular. The carbon brake track uses the same compounds as the Zipp 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher, which offers excellent outright power and modulation and industry leading brake performance. The braking is so good that it even begins to rival that of an aluminum brake track. That continues to be groundbreaking for a carbon wheel.
Zipp has remained the industry leader for so long because of consistent innovation and excellent quality wheels. The Zipp Super 9 Disc Wheel with “Impress Technology” continues that legacy.

Interested…but is that pink or red??? Please tell me red:)

its red, not pink for sure. but its not a brilliant red. the best way to describe it would be to see the super9 valve hole cover that says “Super9” on it.
thats the red they use on a lo fo their wheels an dproducts so if you look at their stuff and see the red coloring, thats it.
its a pretty exceptional color scheme for sure. at speed, once the wheel is moving, its awesome. adds some real flare to the moving disc.

Is this still for sale?
