Hey guys I have a friend who just had a heart cath because she was experiencing chest pains. The heart cath came back good and she was cleared to go back to “normal” daily activities. Does this mean she can return to training for IM Florida or should she take some time off. One thing she told me was that for some reason the doctors didn’t angio seal the femoral artery. She has already had it bleed out once and is worried that training will aggrevate it. What are your opinions?

I probably would advise that she contact the Cards guys who did her cath, and ask them. Without knowing how invasive the cath was, and what they did, it’s hard to say exactly, but the cath can cause some irritability for a while. IF it was my patient, and it’s not, I would advise no really strenuous exercize for about 2-3 weeks, just to let everything settle down, and let the cath site/portal completely heal. AGAIN, she needs to call the people who did it.
