Yeah, I can’t imagine prison will go well for him. Being shut up in a small room with him 24/7 would drive the most calm person to madness. And if it doesn’t, I might need to hire someone. Anyone know how to get in touch with prison gangs?
Now that my sister is completely out of the woods the next piece is the criminal case. And it could be a circus. Any attorney that takes this will regret it in short order. He won’t listen and he won’t cooperate. Hope they get a massive retainer because I’m betting the judge will not be all that quick to let them withdraw.
I don’t foresee him pleading guilty to attempted murder while begging for mercy and there is little incentive for the prosecutor to allow him to plea it down to felonious assault other than saving time. And no one is reluctant to testify.
He has zero ability to show remorse or admit to having made a mistake. He had claimed for ages it was altered. The best he could bring himself to say was, “I have no reason to disbelieve the video.” Just showing any remorse and taking responsibility may have saved him from being suspended. The first disciplinary stuff was actually pretty silly, he just made it worse by not cooperating.
Trying to deny intent to commit murder is going to be rough. He left brought the gun back, shot her in the chest and then attempted a finishing shot but essentially missed.
Identity isn’t a question. Shooting a family member in front of three other family members takes care of that.
Incompetence may be an avenue but I think his ego gets in the way. Believe it or not he would find that too embarrassing. The video of his first appearance looks like a pretty competent person. So that will be tough.
If this was on Dateline you would turn it off 3 minutes in because you already know the outcome. But it will probably get stupid before the end.

Judging from his mug shot (I hope you got the better looking genes from the family pool BTW) that incident was a while back when altering a video that convincing wouldn’t be easy, or even possible. Accountability isn’t a thing with these people. The wife’s ex was confronted about his GOMAR conviction in the Army while on the stand. His wife and family were in attendance in the courtroom and had no idea about it. He couldn’t deny it as it was a matter of record, but in the immediate follow up questioning on a different subject he got so belligerent with her attorney that her attorney had to tell him to knock it off and the judge allowed him to dress him down without intervening. His attorney and my wife locked eyes for a second during his tirade and she said the look on his face said it all.
These creatures are nightmares to represent. I suppose that’s why he was on his third lawyer in as many filings. Good luck to the sucker who takes on your brother’s case.

My oldest brother wanted to throw him off a mountain in The Smokies in 1987 while we were on a backpackingtrip. Not sure why I stopped him.

Out of the hospital today into a rehab facility for a short stay.
No tubes left and 50 some staples are out.
