OK, I can only think of one right now, but I REALLY hate it.
“Contain.”
As in, “They need to do a better job with contain.”
Or, “They lost contain on that play.”
*Contain? *What the freaking holy hell? It’s containMENT.

I hate when they only say the body part that is injured, “he’s out with a knee”. Matter of fact they all ha e two knees. How about saying the actual injury you lazy asses.
“pitch and catch”
.
Matriculate. “He matriculated the ball down the field.”
Maturation. “We are witnessing the maturation of this young QB.”
Smash mouth.
“Hit em in the mouth”
.
He’s going over to the bench for a blow.
Never mind, that one amuses me.

“‘A’ Gap”
.
Maturation is bad. Matriculate is an atrocity. They actually say that?
“‘A’ Gap”
That’s a legitimate term.
Ah, I hate that to. “He’s got a hamstring”. No shit, actually he has two.
I also hate “downhill runner”. The field is level dickheads. I know what they are trying to convey, it’s just stupid.

And:
In Super Bowl IV, American football coach Hank Stram wore a microphone on the sidelines as part of the television broadcast, and was caught telling his Kansas City Chiefs, “Just keep matriculatin’ the ball down the field, boys,” referring to the process of moving the football toward a score. Since that time, and especially after Stram’s death in 2005, sports commentators have used the phrase “matriculate the ball down the field” in this sense. However, this use of the word is unrelated to any other known use of the word.
I always giggle when someone “muffs” a punt…
The use of the word football multiple times in every f’in sentence. They move the football down the football field out of the red zone because they have some great football players who were born to play football.
“Space”. As in ‘he’s a great runner when he gets out in space"…f’n stupid. What ever happened to ‘open field’’? Collinsworth is especially bad about this, among other things.
I always giggle when someone “muffs” a punt…
I always cringe when its the other way around
