Foot/Toe Injury

So last Saturday in an Olympic race, I flew over my bike while running with it in T1 and smoked my foot/big toe on something, somehow. I managed to et on my bike and the pain went away. I got out of T2 and thought I’d have to quit the pain was so bad, but I kept truckin’ on and it eventually subsided and I was able to finish very strong. Problem is, later that night and for the past two days it’s been inflamed and bruising has set it. I went for xrays today and no fracture, just a “soft tissue” injury.

so my question is, how can I recovery the fastest from a “soft tissue injury”? Other than the typical RICE which I’ve been doing. I have a 10k two weeks from today and then a sprint on Sept 1st…

Any ideas/advice?

I bet the only other thing you can do is to tape it to another toe to stop it from moving and let it rest even more. That’s what they do if it is broken, so I wouldn’t think it would be a bad thing to do for a soft tissue injury.

Need WAY more details on what toe, where, etc.

PM me if you want

I’ve concluded that the most logicalthing that it could be is TURF TOE! Anybody ever had turf toe?

I’d definitely PM rroof since he offered. He is VERY helpful with ankle/foot problems!
