Foot/heel question

Has anybody used the Newton running sneakers and felt relief from heel pain/achilles? I have been dealing with heel pain for over 1.5 years. I have been to every doc, tried all the remedies (except surgery)----no concrete PF diagnosis. I have been hearing that the Newton sneakers may provide some relief because the pressure is taken off the heel. I am training for IM Lake Placid 2010 and will be running through the pain/managing it as I go along, thought maybe the sneakers may provide some relief.

I do have PF and one of the things to add to my long and getting longer list of fixes before surgery is to try the Newtons. Less than an hour before I read your post I was actually figuring out when I could get by the shop and purchase them. I have heard a few second hand testimonies that they have worked for foot problems. My understanding is some folks have calve problems from the shift to Newtons and some swear they are great. They are expensive but I want to run pain free badly! Keep us posted on your experience.

If you think they may help achilles tendon problems, you will mostly likely be sorely mistaken.

Plantar fascia issues? Perhaps, but highly unlikely as well.
