Where is the run for the Folsom Intl Tri? Is it on the DG trails along the lake or on the bike trail or some combo of the two.
Thanks
Woody

Also curious… first time doing the race.
Is the bike really just light rolling hills? So pretty much you’ll be going the sames speeds as you would on flats?
And how bad are the hills on the run?
Isn’t it on the asphalt trail along the lake?
The run is 95% on the bike trail south of the lake. No hills to speak of, just a couple of little bumps. It’s an out and back. They shuttle you off onto a trail for the last 1/4 mile to route you into the finish line.
The bike is rolling hills, nothing requiring your small chainring. It will feel like you are climbing most of the way out to the turn around point due to headwind and a slight incline. The course is out and back but with an extra out and back tacked on around mile 10-12. Once you complete the second out and back, you can pretty much tuck into your aeros and crank it up all the way back to T2.
The swim can be colder than expected for the middle of the summer, so bring a full suit if you get cold easily.
Enjoy!
Done the FIT a few times, my experience. Swim is cold, have a full suit.
Bike if rolling except for the turn around. Its a pretty good hill. Coming down the hill on the way
back is a railroad track.
Run is 99% bike path, and it is rolling hills. Nothing large, but sure not flat.
Always has been a very competitive field.

Thanks for the advice on the pacing strategy. I normally run around the lake in a clockwise direction and am familiar with the rollers on the run. Where is the turnaround in relation to the mile markers for the Lake Natoma half marathon?
I swam in folsom lake last weekend…i just hope there is some water left and FIT doesnt turn into a dualthlon.
FIT does not swim in folsom, it is in the river so it will be fine.
Now, I swim in folsom for the TBF Granite Bay race in a month. Could be another swim, run, bike, run event.

i’m new to the area…have you ever seen the lake this low so early in the summer?
Been in the area for 18 years. Can be real high, or low, depending on the year. Yep, this winter was super dry.
Sometimes these lakes get shutdown before the summer is over since they are too low.
