Fog = Trainer

Both days I had long rides on tap (60 miles for Tuesday; 90, today) for this week, the fog rolled in. Heavy stuff, too–less than 1/4-mile visibility and so on. Tuesday was easily rescheduled, but today’s cannot be, due to an obligation this afternoon, so I will be spinning the day away on the trainer. I guess I should consider myself lucky to have even that option. I’m curious to hear others’ takes on cycling (solo) in fog.

Yup - trainer. I’m both concerned about traffic safety in the fog and potential health problems caused by pollutants in the fog. Say hello to Coach Troy!

less than 150 metres or so visibility, maybe on the trainer and not the whole day. Trainer max for me is about 2 hours. More than 150 metres visibility: for sure on the road. Bright clothes on (!), and ride the day away. No problem. I live in a fog area with lots of foggy days. I just ride, but take a bit more care with cars. I have quiet roads too, so not too much problem with cars.
