Foam Rolling vs Stretching

I would have to agree with you on all count.

Stretching is known to reduce maximal force production when it is performed just prior to a big event and also could lead to potential injuries if stretching is done right after strenuous exercise.

Then again I am a firm believer in stretching for injury “prevention”… The best example being patellofemoral syndrome, i think 9/10 persons to which i prescribed quadriceps stretching got rid of patellofemoral syndrome in a matter of days (a week at most). The only thing that saddens me is when i hear of PT still doing the ultra-sound and complementary approaches when dealing with injuries that could be resolved really quickly with the appropriate stretches (but that is a whole other topic)

Just a quick note. Anybody wanting to benefit from stretching should do it at a random time of the day (meaning not prior or right after exercise).
