Can one do this? Not sure if the pressurization presents a problem. Thanks.

It’s not the pressure it’s the law. Can’t do it.
Dont bring your own, the airline provides plenty of them, just reach under your seat and take the 2 that are attached to your life vest, heheheheheheehheehehehe
.
If you try to sneak one, the screeners will promptly hand your bike to the guerillas from the Samsonite commercial without putting the bike back in it’s case!
I got lucky before I knew you could not bring them on the plane and nothing happened - think I had about five in my bike case. Next time I flew and heard about the rule and abided. However some other cyclist on the flight had them confiscated, so better not to mess around.
a revolutionary and legal idea: get a frame pump.
save money and co2 and airline hassles. it’s quite a bit lighter than the lame co2 cartridges as well. and you never make a mistake by blowing your wad and end up sitting there by the side of the road looking like a serious goofus…

Huh? Lighter? Please do tell of this mystical air pump.
allright. how much (in grams) does your inflator and 2 co2 cartridges weigh?
bike case or travel bags that are checked?
i always put my co2 in my bike case and have never arrived at my destination sans them… not good for carry on but when all snugged up inside that big ol’ bike case… no worries
One guy I know was traveling with CO2 in his bike case last month. He normally removes cartridges but forgot to this time. He was paged on airport security and watched on a monitor as they dumped his bike case was out on a cement floor then repacked it. He said they were far less carefull repacking his bike than he was.
Maybe I just don’t get it, by why are they outlawed? Seems just as likely that a toxic gas could be dispensed from a can of shaving cream or deodorant.

Well now, I’ll show you mine if you show me yours… Innovations Racinflate 7.0g (Had to get a magnifying glass to read the name) 2 C02 Cartridges 41.1g each
Total of 89.2 g
I’ll grant you your two cartridges, even though I usually only pack one.
Your turn…
They are pressurized, can explode and blow a hole in the plane or can be used as a weapon.

59g…
He’s got you. There are lots of similar ones…

Read my reply Rappstar, how many cartridges do I carry?
Rappstar have you ever tried to use one of those? Ha! and I thought up hill sprints were hard. I just got lazy and switched to C02.
Don’t have to tell me. I go strictly CO2. I HATE those mini-pumps. But they certainly have got 'em light now…
I’m still not getting it. Aerosol cans are also pressurized and can be used as a weapon. It’s almost trivial to fill a deodorant can with LPG, far more dangerous than a CO2 cartridge.
Yep, I do too. I even broke one once.
I just carry one cartridge, the Racinflator, a tire lever, a spare tube and two hex wrenches, and a business card. And I just found a twenty in the Jandd mini bag, Woooo Hoooo!
On long rides I will take a second tube, more C02, 2 or three patches and the bestest get out of trouble tool…my cellphone. All tucked tucked in my jersey.
Take a hammer to a shaving cream can, then a co2 can and watch what happens. Please don’t do that is you can be dead from the second one. Air under pressure is a very dangerous thing. I saw a hole in the roof of a SCUBA shack where one went off like a rocket. I also had a friend killed when a truck tire exploded in the filling rack and he was lifted over 12 feet in the air.
