Flying dismounts are too hard, and dangerous to boot

My 8yr old godson did his first triathlon this past weekend. 100m open water swim, 5k bike, 1.5k run. He’s seen me race a bunch of times, but I’ve never practiced anything with him or taught him anything tri specific. Hell - it was just last year that I took the training wheels off his bike and taught him to ride. The morning of the event I taught him how to roll his socks and jersey (he’s they type of kid who wouldn’t be too happy with no socks or topless).

He learned the following just by watching me do it a few times:

cool! and you documented really well that Notre Dame guy getting the bug out of his eye …

I’m just surprised the kid is not riding the Io in the front and the Corima disc in the back

Yeah, but we will never know if he actuially ate it.

These are the things in life that are simply the best! Nothing better!

He was very excited to be out on his new “gear bike” - and proudly told me about this kid he passed that was pedaling as fast as he could. My boy just shifted gears and cruised by him.

He did ask for race wheels after seeing a fully decked out TT bike in transition though…

“He’s seen me race a bunch of times…”

You actually race???

Perhaps I should have said participate?

i kinda meant as in your ability to get to the start line, not the finish…but i think you knew that

Obvious photoshop job. If flying dismounts are too difficult for us adults on ST, there is no way a child could possibly do them. Next you’ll be telling us some kid out there can swim faster than 1:30 per 100 meters.
