Florida’s Great Escape Triathlon will take place this weekend on Sunday at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, Florida. Over 600 athletes have signed up for the race. The weather report calls for mid temperatures - low 70’s - with a chance of rain. The water temp. in Lake Louisa is 64 degrees.
The elite field for the race
Men - Greg Bennett (Austrialia), Swen Sundberg (Germany), George Worrell (USA), John Reback (USA), and Luke Dragstra (Canada)
Women - Laura Bennett (Reback) (USA), Lisa Bentley (Canada), Heidi Jesberger (Germany), Allison Hayden (USA) and Heather Gollnick (USA).
A 1/2 hour television show on the race will be broadcast on WFTV (Ch 9) in Orlando on Saturday, March 5th at 2:00 PM and on the Sunshine Network in Florida on Tuesday, March 8th at 4:00 PM and 10:30 PM.
50 qualifing spots for the 2005 Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon will be awards to winners of the age-groups at Florida’s Great Escape Triathlon.
