I’ll be on the east coast of Florida (Vero Beach) for the next 10 days. I’ll be the one with the glow-in-the-dark “Seattle tan”. I hope to get some good swimming in. What the water temp this time of year? Wet suit or no.
Here are a couple of links to look at

Holy Crap, I’m from Vero Beach. Thats a small town, what are you doing there? Disney Resort? I envy you, its great weather right now… hell, its great weather all the time!
thanks for the links. My in-laws are all there. They live across a1a from the disney resort (which my daughter thinks IS disney world). Definitely better than the 49F and raining we had today.
Small world indeed. I’m from Vero as well. Graduated high school in '83.
Was just in Vero this past weekend. Weather was ideal. Cool temps, light breeze. Water low 70s (cold for me). So definitely wetsuit legal. Not to scare you, but be cool on swimming solo. Vero has an occasional tendency to attract schools of sharks - not big ones, or the typical mean ones, but a shark is a shark. I would recommend swimming at JC beach since there is a strong lifeguard presence. I surfed Vero my entire life while growing up, but have become more cautious lately.
By the way, nothing like cycling up and down AIA. Flat, fast and scenic!
As for the visitor, hit South Beach at 7 AM on weekends and you can usually find people to join for a ride or run. Cycling and running groups meet there. Call the main bike store - I think it is called the pro shop or bike sport (or something like that) - for group rides. The owner/manager is a very strong rider. There are some Kona qualifiers from Vero as well, so you may find some great triathletes there too.
Enjoy.
