I copied this from the Florida 70.3 website:
Are wetsuits allowed?
Yes, in accordance with USAT wetsuit / water temperature rules. In fact, wetsuits are strongly advised for races early in the year as the water is typically very cold.
However, please note that water temperatures at late-season races such as Ford Ironman 70.3 Florida can get up to 84-85 degrees. Wetsuits will only be permitted if water temperatures are below USAT guidelines at any of our events. Go to www.usatriathlon.org for complete rules. For example, the water temperature has been over 80 degrees the past two years at Ford Ironman 70.3 Florida and wet suits have not been allowed at that event.
Yes, that’s the rule, but for many of us that have actually been there the last few years, it has never been cool enough for a wetsuit. Listen to the people that have actually done it!
No wetsuits the past couple years!!
Put your tri top on before the swim and unzip it then roll it down your body and tuck it in your tri shorts. Exit the water the roll it up your body and zip up. Its better than trying to pull it over your head in T1.
See you in Florida!
I am listening, in fact I actaully live in Florida and would consider it a miracle if the water ever gets cold enough for wetsuits at Fl 70.3

GuruDude - are you thinking of Gulf Coast HIM…in May…in Panama City Beach? that’s always wetsuit legal. the Disney Florida 70.3…in May…never is.
my bad you are right, its the olympic in sep that is always wet suit legal, and clermont half and miami man. Sorry little brain dead here, thats what tapering does to ya!!
I know Craft makes a full zip tri top. And if people would buy clothing how it is supposed to be worn, it is tight fitting.
But you’re right, they’re the only one I can think of off hand that do and I would have loved to have it at Disney last year when I spent literally 3 minutes trying to get a top on, my T1 was something like 5:00.
