Florida - Here I come, hopfully

I am planning on doing Florida ironman 2011 which will be my first ironman and need to make sure I get in. Need to know the in’s-out’s so I do not miss registration since this is my first time registering for a Ford ironman event. I see all these posts saying two computers, be ready etc. and want to know that I did everything to get in.

I am located in Massachusetts. So I need to be ready with my one (1) computer on Sunday November 7, 2010 at 11:00am sharp even know it is Eastern Time in Panama City they are 1 hour behind me in Massachusetts. Is this correct and is there anything else I can do?

Get a registered account on active.com; have your credit card handy; don’t fill in any optional info within the form; type quickly and accurately. Good luck.

Might as well be willing to buy a community slot while your at it.

Look at it this way, how much would it cost you to travel to Florida and volunteer this year for the race?

Since you are trying to save that money, you should look at it as a risk you are willing to take. Also you get write off half of it on your taxes as charitable contriubtion.

they ask some questions about your motivation to race, career highlights, other races, other IM events, local newspaper, etc. They are all required. Have some quick responses ready to go.

???

You s/b ready at 1pm MASS time which is 12pm PCB time. They are on CST.

remember, there is a time change that weekend.

start trying @ Active.com 5-10 min before open.
That’s what I did and registered me and my brother for 2010.
good luck

Every year is different but IMFL was still open for 4-6 hours after it went online when I signed up last year for 2010.

I just booked a ticket to fly down there. My dad lives in PCB, so, it will just cost me the price of a ticket, and I’ll be in line Sunday morning. Looking forward to it!

And, yes, PCB is in Central Time, so if your going to reg online, it would be 1 your time.

I just moved down here and am going to be standing by to do the same, At the very least do the half in the springtime.
