I am registered M45-49 - just wondering what kind of volume folks are putting in.
I’m a couple AG’s bellow you.
My largest volume week:
20,000 in the pool
220 miles on the bike
35 miles on the run
Are you from a warm climate? Get ready for some heat and air you can drink.
Typical volume now is swim 5-7k week, 30-35 miles and trainer rides. Will build as usual towards 70.3
i hear the run is pretty variable terrain

I still haven’t been outside on the bike yet this winter. I’ve picked up the swimming volume to 5 days a week. My running was going well until an injury so it’s non-existent right now but was in the 30 something range.
Speed work all around for me in March and April as Florida is my only scheduled big race this year.
What sort of finishing time are you (and others) shooting for?
40-44 age group. I put in 15hrs a week. Run 30 miles,cycle trainer 200 miles (the weather here in Pa is not outdoor ready yet), swim minimal 2500yds for now,1.5 hr per week of upper body core work. The swimming is low but its my best event and I can’t see putting the huge amount of time into it to gain maybe 2 minutes in the swim. I’m shooting for a 5 hr time. This will not be easy for me due to my running but I’m working on it. Good luck and be ready for a HOT and HUMID day.
40-44 AG.
putting in 2-3 hrs swim, 6-7 bike, 4 hrs run. aiming for sub 4.40.
mostly good solid endurance for right now.
get ready for the humidity. i live in FL now but that heat/humid still gets me.
