Felix, I guess you are escaping the floods back in Switzerland being over at IMC. Hope the rest of you Euros are doing OK with the flooding.
Everythings ok here in Zurich. Thanks for asking. Flooding has really been a problem in central Switzerland but the Zurich region has just seen a lot of rain (and increased water levels in lakes/rivers). Some towns closer to the alps have been completely shut off from the world as all electricity has been turned off and access roads have been washed away - people are actually trapped.
tom (in Zurich)
Same for me here near Lausanne. No major problems. We even avoided the rain for the Triathlon European championships last week-end. It is more the central switzerland that had big floodings, like the capital Bern and all around Luzern.
Hey Tom,
I have an athlete coming to Zurich next week, can you find him a pool to swim in? It’s a business trip, so early morning and late afternoon works best
Thanks!
Paulo
Hi,
I’m the one traveling to Switzerland.
In fact I’ll be flying to Zurich, but my final destination is Berne. Are you aware of any pool I can use to swim?
Thanks!
Sérgio
Are you staying in Zurich itself? or are you just passing through (I don’t know Bern that well)? let me know where you’re staying and I’ll try and get back to you with a pool (and address/directions).
tom
I’ll just pass through Zurich, final destination is Berne and I’ll be staying in the Hotel Allegro Bern AG (Kornhausstrasse 3Room Adagio 3/4 3000 Bern 25).
Thanks for the help!
Sérgio
Well, I don’t know Bern very well (hardly at all) but after a quick check I found this one:
Hallenbad Wyler (FYI Hallenbad = Pool translated)
Tel. 031 332 15 02
Scheibenstrasse 65
3014 Bern
Mo, Di, Do
0700 - 1845 Uhr
Mi
1100 - 1845 Uhr
Fr
0700 - 1800 Uhr
Edit: I tried to link pictures of the pool but it didn’t work. Here’s the link (it’s the pool at the bottom of the list - I checked the others and it’s the closest one):
http://www.sportamt-bern.ch/baederkunsteisbahnen/?v=hallenbader
And here is a map from your hotel. 1.6km away through the old town. You could probably take a tram but I’m not that familiar with the system there.
Hope that is OK.
tom
Thanks Tom, thats perfect!
