a while ago, someone posted that on the Florida 1/2 IM website, it stated that wetsuits were allowed, and actually encouraged, and this was true. There was a discussion about how weird it was that they said that, considering the race is in late may, in Florida. I just rechecked the website, and for anyone who’s interested, that has been reversed, and wetsuits are most likely not going to be allowed as water temperatures are expected to be over 80 degrees
According to the USAT website, age groupers are allowed to use wetsuits up to 84 degrees. (Over 84 means no wetsuit allowed)
they expect boarderline temps, but would you really want it? I train hard, so the swim wont be that bad, and with air temp in the 90s, i would hate to start overheated
I understood the rule was 78 degrees in order to get an official race time.
