Fizik Ares TT-saddle

Ok, I´ve tried the ISM Adamo saddles out, they are not made for me. I think I will just stick to a regular saddle. I´ve checked the web a bit, and found out that I want to buy a Fizik Ares saddle. I can have my saddle 5 cm behind the BB, and hopefully sit on my sit-bones (witch I currently dont do with my Felt saddle). The saddle comes in two color options. White and black and red and black. The red and black got some “anti slide” material at the front of the saddle, the white and black one doesn´t have the anti-slide thing.

So my question is the following; Should I go for the red/black because of the anti-slide or the white/black without the anti-slide? Both of the saddles would match my bike. I can get the white/black for a quite good price in my local bike shop. If I buy the red/black I need to buy it on the Internet, and that would cost me more because of the taxes and stuff (25% #norway…)

I have a white one , a buddy has a red one. mine has much less padding than his, but probably because I got it in 2009 vs his 2013, though not sure on that.

not sure how you would sit on your sit bones on it and still be rotated forward. I too have not found any split nose design that I can live with as they all are worse than sitting to one side for me. don’t want that much weight on my arms/shoulders

I saw a nearly new black and white one on ebay yesterday for cheap. You should check it out if you are thinking about getting one.

i have one and prefer it to the other things i have tried - tritip and Cobb Max. However, it is comfortable for me in one position only - sat on the front in the aero position. If i sit up - it is not comfortable. So i don’t slide around on the saddle and although i have the white/black the red/black would be ok.

i found it a hard saddle to find a good position with. When the saddle is flat the rails are on a significant upward slope

There seems to be a difference in Fizik OEM and off the rack saddles by Fizik, the latter being better made. Make sure you check this for yourself.

I’m also a member of the “nose saddle” group. I’ve been using a Prologo Nago EVO tri 40 which is the best compromise to date. I did just buy a used Specialized Tri tip to try out of curiosity. Nose saddles don’t let you rotate your pelvis like the Adamo, Sitero, etc but I’m also not in pain all the time in other places.

Besides the Ares, there’s also the Specialized TTS which I hear nothing about and rarely see for sale. On paper, it looks like the same sort of saddle as the Ares for UCI compliance (which I don’t need).

I just got one. Only have an hour on it and the bike is new too, so I’m still getting it dialed in. So far, I like it better than the TriTip 50 I had. Like it better than the Arione Tri2 that I have a a roadie as well.
