Last Boxing Day I picked up a Felt Seville fixed gear for $500.00. I thought it would be great to have to go for coffee or the grocery store. I have never felt comfortable riding it fixed in town so I was flipping it and riding on the free wheel.
We have miles of beautiful paved rail trail in the area so I have recently added a fixed gear 30 km hard effort to my training. I can’t say enough about this. It has really brought awareness to my riding. I now know just how much I coasted, to drink, to shoulder check etc.
I’d like to check out the Mattamy cycling centre in Milton, On to become certified and ride this winter.
It has most definitely improved my cycling fitness and awareness!
