Fix my Garmin

Garmin 310
Macbook

ANT connect is either bad, or I am doing something wrong. Everytime I want to connect my 310 to transfer data, I have to turn the unit off. Then back on, then go into settings and and turn the pairing off then on. Then I can open the ANT agent, then plug the ANT stick in and then turn it will connect. But it will only allow me to transfer files from the 310 to my computer. I can not update my 310, its been like this for a while now and I just lived with it, but now I am annoyed with it. Does anyone know of a fix? (besides getting rid of my macbook)

Are you saving your workouts after you finish your workout?

Hit Stop Button.
Hold down Lap button for three seconds. (until it resets)

The it should pair to the Mac.

Yeah, I do that every time.

Are you clearing out the history from time to time?

Also search/post on Garmin Forums.

I was having similar problems a while back that made transferring files from my 910 to my mac a huge PITA. I ended up deleting the ANT file (went into application folder and deleted it). Then reinstalled from the Garmin website. Fixed the problem. Well that problem anyway.

Welcome to my life. Don’t know how to change that lovely process.

My 510 uploads automagically to the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone. It’s awesome. The newer running watches do this too, but the workouts get stuck in limbo. If this actually worked, I may pull the trigger on a new running watch.

I thought that I was the only one. Talking to Garmin is not very enjoyable, thats why I posted on here. Guess I will try to call them. I have tried uninstalling the ANT agent and reinstalling and it is still that same thing. Annoying at best… Maybe I can use it as a reason to buy the new Fenix…

There is a new update from Garmin called Garmin Express that seems to replace Device Agent. The website is http://connect.garmin.com/en-US/start/

Hopefully the update will correct the problem for you.
