I am flying down to wildflower with 2 friends. We will have a total of 3 bike boxes and our gear (camping, racing, etc.). Looking for a good rental car that will fit everything without breaking the bank. Suggestions? Seems like mini vans (e.g., Dodge Caravan) are readily rentable and not too expensive. Will a standard mini van fit 3 bike boxes and associated camping/racing gear? Thanks in advance.
Minivan is the only way to go, most if not all SUV’s will only fit 1 box, maybe 2. Even with a van you might have a hard time with 3 boxes unless you can remove/rearrange the seats.
I fit a single clam shell style and a double in a minivan with 3 of us but no camping gear. It was tight but do-able. May sound crazy but how about a uhaul box van?
easily fit 2 bike boxes plus large suitcases in a chevy uplander(minivan) in Feb and 2 bike boxes with tons of space(plus both bikes built for a while) with three adults and some smaller luggage in march for Lavaman. Minivan is the best way to go even though my Rogue fit the same stuff as the Uplander.
Experience tells me you wno’t get 3 bike boxes and 3 people with kit in a CaravanVoyager. How about hiring a cargo van?
I’m not sure how many seats you need but most new vans have seats that fold down into the floor.
