Fitting a Giant TCR Aero 2?

I’m new to triathlon and am planning on purchasing a Giant TCR Aero 2 as my first road bike. Considering that there are only 3 or 4 sizes of bikes, I was wondering how can I ensure that I have the correct size and proper fit on this bike. If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

It’s really not a hard bike to fit if you’re one of the 95% of the population that fit the T shirt sizes. If you’re one of the minority on the cusp between different frame sizes then it might be a bit harder, but this isn’t usually as big an issue for most riders as some people make it out to be…

Once you’ve picked the appropriate frame size the three adjustments to worry about are seat height, stem length and fore/aft seat position, just like on any other road bike.

For tris they are easily converted to a “multi-sport” position. My recommendation would be to go with Syntace C2 aero bars one size smaller than normal. Put the seat right forward on the aero seat post for about 75 degrees. If you want to go a degree more forward to 76 then get a neutral seat post. The bike feels well balanced still at 75/76 but I wouldn’t recommend going more forward with a forward seat post as then the handling gets unbalanced. They actually make a decent tri bike. LVL won IM Hawaii on a TCR in 1999 and Luke Bell rode one to fourth this year. Not to mention Team ONCE’s legendary TDF TT TCR’s.

My medium TCR fits me great. I just love it.
