Fit guru's story, no pic

I get pains in my thigh:
front pocket area, straight head rectus femoris, sartorius-call it what you want or think.

I do not get this pain riding my road bike.
Suggestions on fit correction?

THANK YOU

So I got a PM that I should raise my seat 1-2mm to open my hip angle at noon.

Anyone have anything else to try?

I thought TT seat should be slightly lower than road bike? Im at 27 1/4 and 27 1/2 right now.

Seat tube angle would be nice to know. Riding steeper might be the answer to increasing the hip angle but it sure is hard to call with no pictures.

Rotating forward as well as steeper as mentioned, will improve hip angle and also allow a flatter rather than rounded back shape if you keep the bar and pad location the same.

Another option is shorter cranks, but that’s a bit more radical of a change.

How can you guys make any suggestions without

  1. Knowing the current set up
  2. Examining the rider
  3. Watching the result of initial suggestions

Thanks for the responses!

I thought you could just take numbers from one (ROAD = X) and go with “X” close or percentage or +, - to set up TT.
I asked about forward, most people have said no.
I also thought the area of pain would point to something specific like seat height, seat fore/aft, cockpit.

I can’t get pics till later, sorry-but will now that I know itll help people give even better responses.

As a general rule the fit suggestions here are worth about what people pay for them. ; )
