Fit for 6' 6" guy (TALL)

I’m on the tall side (6’ 6", 200lbs) and in the market for my first TT bike (been riding XL Fuji SST 1.0 which fits me ok).
Now i know i should get properly fitted (FIST and all that), but wanted to cut some corners and was wondering what are other tall guys riding? I’d be doing mostly Olys, a HIM here and there and I’d say that comfort is #1 imperative.

LBS has Fuji D6 2009 frameset – would that fit me? How about P3 in 61cm? I also have my eyes on the new BMC TM01 – is that out of question?

These are my measurements from CompetiveCyclist calculator:

usually at that height you will want models with a bit more stack, so a P2 might be a better match than a P3, and save you money.

but it very much depends on what sort of position you intend to ride with. I would first test ride a P2, slice, or shiv-tri in the largest sizes of each. those have a good chance of working well

really depends on what kind of position you end up preferring of course.

Shiv-Tri has 59cm stack in XL… P2 is at 57.5cm.

Now, the problem is that BMC TM01 really looks gorgeous to me (and this will be somewhat of a bling purchase so it’s all in the looks)… but the stack is 55.5cm only in L. Would that give me crazy drop?

well the question is how do you adjust the stack upwards on the BMC TM01 - can you adjust it that high, does doing so compromise the safety/handling/aerodynamics etc.

aerobar choice plays into this as well. ones that allow lots of stack adjustment with aero spacers will free you up to use frames that might be a bit too low.

I’m about your size and have ridden a D-6, never really had a lot of an issue with stack height. I just PMed you on something that might be of interest, too.

6’6 185 here.

I Ride a p2c and it does have a high stack like Jack says. I was super excited to see that the new shiv tri has an even larger stack height.

I’d go with the shiv tri. So much awesome with that bike.
