Fistapalooza Roll Call...who's going?

Just checked the weather:
A little cooler Friday. The high clouds will decrease Friday and
then increase again into Saturday as a large and more vigorous low
pressure trough approaches from the northwest. This approaching trough will
bring more clouds and cooling Saturday and Sunday. The trough will
move through with a chance of light showers and light mountain snow
showers mostly above 6000 feet Saturday night and Sunday. Strong
west winds aloft and increasing onshore pressure gradients will
cause strong west winds with local gusts to 70 miles per hour possible in the
mountains and deserts Saturday night and Sunday. A High Wind Warning
may be needed for these areas.

Those of you that are tent-camping might want to bring the stakes! Oh, and the down sleeping bag!
I RSVP’ed that I am in, but I may have some “scheduling issues” (daughter’s sports, etc.) Who’s going to be there?

I’ll be there all day Saturday. Due to the forecast on Sunday, I’ll probably head home Saturday night. See you there!

I hope you have a great time
Wish I could make it
.

we have a large workshop where we hold our FIST workshops. if weather gets cold or windy at night, folks can “camp” in there

I was planning on arriving on Friday night but some stuff has come up here and it looks like I will not arrive until sometime on Saturday afternoon. Staying Saturday night and heading out Sunday afternoon. Bring on the weather.

I’ll be there early Saturday morning, leaving Saturday night to come back and run the Spirit Run 10km in Newport Beach on Sunday.

I’m planning on Sunday, but the weather might change my ride plans. MTB??? I don’t mind running in the snow.

i think it’s very unlikely it’s going to be snowing here. but we might get rain on sunday. saturday we’re looking good. fortunately, as for the fits, we can do those in the workshop if need be.

Wherever you hold them, even out in snow, is fine with me.
I would guess that the ‘climb’ might be out of the question on Sunday.

i think we’re “climbing” tomorrow, and the weather should be quite nice. if sunday’s a bad riding weather day, perhaps a longer run in the mountains might be in order. we’ll play it by ear.

It’s all good.
I got a new stretchy weather proof Craft cycling jack that needs some use, too.

Swimming? anyone swimming?

What time are you riding tomorrow? Contemplating heading up there instead of doing the usual Saturday “raincross ride” in Redlands/Riverside area.

I believe they are starting out at 10am. There will be coffee and assorted sweeties starting about 8:30 or so… Looks like any real bad weather will be late sat evening, so the ride should be nice. It is frigging warm here today, has been all week, and will be next week, One bad day in the 10 day period, sunday of course…

ride should start at 10am to go up the mountain. I am leaving Carlsbad at 7am so should be there (after mandatory coffee stop) by 9am.
How cold is it going to be up in Wrightwood for the descent back down?

Saturday Partly cloudy. Highs 47 to 57 above 6000 feet to 56 to 66 below 6000 feet. Winds southwest 15 to 20 mph.

How long/far will the ride be guys?

35 miles w/an 11 mile climb. See Mike’s post here: http://forum.slowtwitch.com/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=2234709;page=2;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25;

I’d like to do two loops (or another route that gets me about 70 hilly miles) then a transition run before my fit session and a beer!

Fred

Thanks Fred. Just found that post. I’m doing Superfrog 1/2 next weekend, so 35 miles hilly is just fine for me. See ya in the morning…
