FIST that

This picture was taken of me in riding a TT the other day:

I’ve never been FISTed in my life, but those angles have gotta be close.

Critique my position? Admire my position.

I’m more concerned about your skinsuit.

What kind of flowers are those in the background?

Probably cow parsley.

There may be better ways to Fist yourself…

Shoe-covers? And the color of your face matches your suit (not good!).

Are you an American?

Then you should know that your looks are far from perfect. And that is what matters most around here

No I’m a Brit. Looks like I’d better get on to the team manager about redesigning the kit in more flattering colours…

Your seat looks too high (not joking).

Well, I think what kills people around here are the logos on your suit…

How do you get away with riding a Cervelo with your team sposored by specialized?

Just kidding!

Dude you got to get some sun. You must live in the UK or something? Your position looks pretty good though.

Cover that disc hole with black tape while your at it.

Your seat looks too high (not joking).

was waiting for that

a) it’s not and b) if you FIST it you’ll find the hip-knee-foot angle is pretty much perfect
.

Sun? I wish! Had my first decent warm sunny ride of the year two days ago.

Pretty good position. And the seat is not too high.

Some details:

  • You can go marginally lower with a different stem, try that.

  • Forearms culd be horizontal.

  • You should wear your helmet differently, in order for the tip of it to almost touch your back.

Helmet tail is too high. It could be worse, but it’s still probably costing 30 sec per 40K. Chin up, lad!

  • Have thought about a lower stem, but I’ve been going pretty fast this year so didn’t want to mess with things too much.

  • I prefer my fore-arms pointing down, have done my best rides times like that. I’ve tried them horizontal but didn’t like it.

  • I’ve been trying to get the helmet set up like you suggest, but surprisingly tricky to achieve

Your seat looks too high (not joking).
Second this opinion. But, if it works then it works. David K

Ok, then I don’t like you pedal stroke.

I can live with that
.

I might try getting your pads down maybe 2cm and arms slightly forward and see how it feels.

As it is, your head could be lower in reference to your back. I’m sure you’re fast like that, but we are talking about going for absolute lowest CdA here.

If you make any changes, mark where you’ve got things now first, and keep an eye out for loss of power.

Also, your leg extension is great but look how high your heel is. Flatter feet=less frontal area.

Your steer tube looks like it is ready for a brisk.

However, I’ve heard rumors that Brits don’t snip.
