FIST Question

I was FIST fitted last year on a 2004 QR Caliente. If I would like to make the following changes/upgrades, with what references should I make them to?

  1. Lowering the stem height or angle, how much or what is the ratio of forwarding the saddle?

  2. I plan to change from the stock QR saddle to a Fizik Airzone. Do I install the new saddle with measurements from the BB? cos this saddle as u know is much longer than the norm.

Thanks a million everyone in advance.

Read this article. It should help you with #1.

For #2 it’s where you sit on the saddle itself that is more important of the nose to BB ratio. You’ll just have to play with it a bit.

Remember all fitting systems are simply a guide for you to either start from or change to.

If you are changing things then you are altering the setup for a reason, no? You want to lower the stem which will reduce the inner angle of your thigh and torso but not your thigh to knee which is of greater importance, per say.

BTW what is a good bike shop in Singapore to have my Kuota shipped to so I can have it rebuilt whilst I am away in Malaysia?
