First Tri!

I did it!!!
Won my age group, came in 4th (lost 3rd by 4 seconds) overall in women, and 7th (out of 86) in men and women of the my first triathlon division…
smoked the bike (average speed 20.81).

thank you all for your support getting here…

and for now I think I am sticking to sprints…cannot imagine doing a longer swim or run!

WOW - that’s one heck of a debute. Congratulations, that’s fantastic!

Though you’ll see, first it’s sprints, then an olympic or two, and next thing you know you’re gunning for a Kona spot.

Congrats again.

Damn! Good job!

The best part is it sounds like you had lots of fun.

Holy crap! Congratulations, that’s amazing!

M

Congrats! Not only did you complete your first tri but you won hardware to boot!! What a way to start off your season!!

Congrats Cat!! What a kick ass race for you! It was great to meet you and I hope your top-notch performance transfers over to me tomorrow as I brave the Oly race!

I bet you do great! need to get some more ST hardware!!!

I did have a blast though there were moments: arriving at the park - my thoughts were: ‘what the heck am I doing? just go home!’
Right before the swim: ‘crap’ - during the swim - more crap!

bike felt great. Then half way through the run I thought - I never want to do this again (but that thought was quickly overtaken

It was great, everyone was super nice - the crowd cheered us all on…what a blast.
I am truly hooked!

Awesome job!! Congratulations!

Congratulations! Way to burn up the bike course!

Congratulations on a great debut!!

Congrats on finishing your first race! You’ll be winning the next one! Where was your race? You must be somewhere sort of warm to be racing so early in the year.

I am down in Orlando, FLA - when I decided to do tris I signed up for this one so I could still have 3 months to train before the Northeast season really gets underway…

Small race (436 with MyFirstTri division 86) which is why I could win my age group and do so well - not expecting to do as well up north but will train to anyway!!!

and now I am comfortable getting my hands greasy and doing stuff on my bike - which I NEVER thought I would do…Still happy to have the LBS though!

I did indeed bring home some hardware, but not quite with the same flair you did. I won my aquabike AG, but that’s b/c I was the only one in my AG!! I came in 5th of the Aquabikers, though my swim & bike times would have put me 3rd against my AG in Oly triathlon. I gotta say, 1500m swim is fricken LONG. OW swimming is an entirely different sport than pool swimming. The bike went well for me, but you kicked my ass (I avg’d 18.6mph).

I’m hooked, but kind of questioning my decision to do HIM the rest of the season (still aquabike though…might do some sprints this summer if my hip allows me to run)

Wow - great first tri Cat! Congratulations, you were fast. Glad you had so much fun too!

Rachel

no one needs to know you were the only one in AG
your secret is safe here…

and yeah OWS is definitely harder!!! glad that spring is coming and can get out there!

your bike time includes transition, so unless you are doing your speed by bike computer you were likely on par with me…we can go smoke a race together!

geeze o petes woman, that is absolutely kick ass! way to go!

Yay!! What a great race  And a very impressive debut!

*geeze o petes *

You know, aside from my brother and I, you are the only other person I have ever heard use that phrase
.

CONGRATS!!

Awesome debut!
