Nice photos Thanks
.

Thanks for the post. I always love going to your website. Thanks

great pics as always
.

I heard that they are going to run a half Ironman distance next year. Is this true?

Nice shots.

Yes, it seems the ‘Challenge’ series has plans to expand(at this race anyway).

The race director Victoria said at the prize giving yesterday that there would also be a 1/2 iron-distance race held in conjunction with the full iron-distance race.

It will work well as the swim and run are 2 equal loops. The bike can coveniently cut out the 90km loop to Cromwell such that it goes over the same course also. So there wouldn’t need to be anymore officials on the road to do it.

I think it is the best way for them to grow it.

Glad some folk like the photo displays, although i expect there are many who still prefer magazine layouts. The internet has a different look.

This Challenge race is part of the challenge series linked with Roth if anyone is wondering/unsure.

Are pro’s allowed to do the swim without swim cap? In a few of the photos it looks like a couple of the pros arent wearing swim caps. I’d assumed this was a rule more for just safety in sighting swimmers.

Was wondering that myself, especially about Luke Dragstra. Am pretty certain they all started with swim caps on.
Wouldn’t be at all surprised if his cap slipped off during the swim. It was about 19 degrees celcius so once you get warmed up it would be o.k if it come off.

The swim caps they gave us this year and last year are very large fitting. Had to stop and pull mine back on twice last year.
This year I knew mine had slipped up alot but didn’t want to stop. One poor girl last year told me hers come off and she had long hair in her face for 50mins or so(good swimmer).

By having all the photos and making up the pages i get to see in some detail the race and all the gear.

And more about the swim caps. am sure the rules say swim-caps must be worn in all triathlons.

But what does the rule book say about the situation where a swim cap falls off? Surely it can’t be an instanat DQ?

Just bumped this thread, but more feedback is welcome.

It is a bit far for people just to come and do a triathlon, but might fit with a Summer holiday.

The NZD like the AUD has just devalued by 25% against the USD.
