Many thanks for those who helped with advice on buying a Lucero last week. I won the auction, built the bike up last night (my first build from scratch!) and thought it was time to post a couple of pics. Definitely not hard-core but a considerable improvement on anything I’ve owned previously…
Next steps for the bike - I need to modify the Profile bars to get lower, but I had some back problems earlier this year so am taking it slowly with position changes. I need to trim the zip ties on the computer and sensor, but I’m not 100% sure this is where they’re going to end up at the moment. And I’ll probably get some more aero wheels when budget allows. Not sure yet if I’ll stick to the red Michelin Pros or if the next set will be black/grey.
I know I need to clean/paint my garage wall - being next to my rollers it gets a few handprints. I already put some mosskiller down on my driveway but it hasn’t taken effect yet. And I need to concrete over the bit where the wiring goes into the floor.
You spend all that effort colour coding the bike, and lose focus on the tires. Oh dear.
Nice rig though, and you need a pair of trispokes or suchlike to complete it.
I know - the wheels and tires are the obvious weakest link and were whipped straight off my old bike (which was an aluminium frame with red decals so the tires went a lot better)
Ah well - just 2 races to go this year so will wait until spring to get kitted up with some proper race wheels
