My original Arione Tri has more than “hammocked” and I want a firmer, flatter saddle. Can anyone comment of the stiffness between the Arione Tri 2 and the Arione Tri 2 Carbon?
I switched to the tri2 carbon shell/ti-rails. I just switched, but I hope to have some feedback along these lines, as that is why I switched (that, and the no-seam vs. the regular arione). Would like even less padding, but oh well…
EDIT: I went carbon shell/ti rails because my seatpost cannot accept any rails that are not perfectly round and 7mm in diameter.
Well not on the tri version, but my Arione Road Carbon/Carbon is alot stiffer than my standard Arione road.
Have the same issue here as well (rail compatibility.) How is it so far?
I have the Tri2 carbon shell with TI rails. It’s not very stiff, but I find it comfortable - more so than the Arione Tri. The Tri2 is also flatter than the Arione Tri.
Only one issue: I normally ride closer to the center of the saddle, however if I slide forward to the end of the saddle it makes a pop noise if I start to sprint and I bounce off the saddle. It might just be my seat post clamp, I’ll have to swap it out to check. Also, I noticed that if I push down on the nose of the saddle the rear flexes up. None of this happened with my old Arione Tri. I have never had a carbon shell saddle and I know the tri2 has the “wingflex” feature, so I haven’t been too concerned.
I’ve put about 200 miles on the saddle and raced it once. Aside from the occasional pop, I’m satisfied with it.
Nice enough. A bit soft. I’m gonna ride it some more, then maybe test an SLR.
don’t give up on having kids just yet. save the slr until you have at least one child ![]()
Standard SLR or the T1? Tempting. I guess it works for Cam Widoff, Bjorn, etc.
I have the Fizik Arione tri and Arione tri Carbon Braided. As long as you go with tri line you’ll get padding. If you want the Arione shape and rock hard saddle look into this:

Otherwise stick with regular Fizik Arione (non Tri)
Just got the K1, it is really stiff, but all carbon with a little gel on the top. I love it after about 200m (4 rides) so far. It is on my road bike, so not in aero position, but nice when I get down in the drops still.
