Finding gloves while training

I’ve found a lot of weird stuff training, including a little plastic dog that I brought home and have sitting on top of my computer while training. I also find a lot of gloves when training, and this year, a lot of trash as the snow melts.

We’ve talked about this before, but what is some of the weird stuff you’ve found while out training? A friend of mine found three kittens once so we brought them all to the bike shop and found them homes.

While running along the beach I found an waterproof diving flashlight.

My current work-around-the-house gloves were found about 1/2 mile from my house on a run. I saw them outbound, and picked 'em up inbound. Nice leather work gloves.

While riding years ago, I found a 25’ tape measure. Looks like it fell off a truck, but it works fine.

A local guy (and sometime ST poster) found this on a beach run here in NJ a couple of days ago:

I was in high school and saw a porn mag in the ditch as I was running by. I went back on my bike later in the day to get it.

Whoa. He wins.

I’m trying to figuere this one out, Ken. Is that LBI?

That’s so much more effective than a “No Swimming” sign.

Heheh, for sure.

So I was out today minding my own business on my typical 10K run loop and can you believe it, I found a big ole shark.

I found a snake eating another snake once. They were about the same size, so the eater had about 2/3 of the eatee inside, with the tail hanging out of it’s mouth. The eatee was so big that the eater seemed to be sort of stuck in the middle of the trail, not trying to move away or anything, just concentrating on getting the darned thing down.

Over the last 9 years, mostly while running, about $400 in change and some paper money too. It’s a game the running group I run with plays. My biggest take was $85.

Bay Head, I’m told.
