The 2007 Persona Desert Half Iron takes place July 8th in Osoyoos, 60Km South of Penticton, and has 25 IMC qualifying spots. The race is also the 2007 Canadian Long Course championships.
Look for JohnnyO and his pink bike out there pushing the pace on the bike. Should be another Okanagan scorcher out there.
25 IMC qualifying spots up for grabs. Spot allocation posted on the race website www.outbackevents.ca
One of the most challenging bike courses around as you ride up the Richter, over the rollers and out to Cawston where you turnaround and then come back to Osoyoos. Run is flat and mostly alongside Lake Osoyoos.
Just thought I’d post before we get ready to head down there to get started on RD stuff.
Joe,
Since you do so many races in the OK, some guys I train with were thinking about having a bulk price for your series of races. Any thoughts on this? I haven’t done any of your races, but could be interested in say $300 for 4 races.
Anyone know the Water temp of the osoyoos lake??? Skaha is 21.5 right now and a lot colder lake usualy… swam for 1h non wetsuit this morning and just getting excited that maybe finaly we will get a non wetsuit race this weekend!!! I will go drop some hot water in the lake tonight!!!
where ever he decide to mesure… they said on wikkipedia that osoyoos lake is the warmest lake in canada with a average of 24 degres… i will personaly supervise the mesurement and make sure the temperature is taken in a official way… 3 inchs deep in a sandy area well expose to the sun on the day before the race at 2pm!
joe said it dosnt matter how deep he as to go…he will find a littel bit of cold water somewhere in that lake and yep… it s a wetsuit swim!
does really bother me, i have a unfair advantage of swimming with the crazy fast NINETEEN WETSUIT FREQUENCY and i was just trying to even the chance by making it a non wetsuit…
