two weeks ago got what I thought was a small hamstring pull, but it’s taking forever to heal. I guess they do.
Up to then was up to 1:50 hilly runs. Took 10 days off (ART, etc) Felt fine through all daily activities. Slightly tight on a short Thursday run. Today went bad again on an ez post ride run. Not to the extent of two weeks ago, but a couple steps back
Have wildflower in 3 weeks (Yeah, I’ve done the course before, I know how hard the run is). Given that this might not heal until then (if by then), and my swim/bike is solid, is it possible/feasible/wise/foolish to go into WF with3 weeks of elliptical training? Does not hurt on the elliptical
THe alternative is to swim/bike then start the Dos Equis a little early, which doesn’t suck, but I’d rather finish
It is, I am sure I could find a pool to do it in. Better than elliptical?
The tightness/pain in running is the final millisecond of extension of the leg, just before impact, but no pain on impact, so I wondered if I would have the same pain in water running.
better than, I don’t know… you’ll get bored quickly. Maybe a combination of both; do the long “run” on the elliptical and the workouts in the pool (google for Pfitzinger Lab report + water running for some good ones)
I’ve never done water runing, but your suggestion on “running” on an elliptical strikes me as a good idea for a heel issue I’m having. Don’t even know how to water run but I might give it a try so I nip this in the bud…
