Pay for Ex-Head of FEMA By THE NEW YORK TIMES

WASHINGTON, Oct. 26 - Michael D. Brown, who resigned as leader of the Federal Emergency Management Agency on Sept. 12 after criticism of his performance in leading the agency’s response to Hurricane Katrina, will remain on the government pay roll for yet another month.

The Department of Homeland Security, which oversees FEMA, agreed to hire Mr. Brown as a contractor, still at his $148,000 annual salary, first for one month, and now for a second month, said Russ Knocke, a department spokesman.

“This will allow him to continue transferring information and data to staff,” Mr. Knocke said.
I mean, what possible information could he possibly have?

Good places to eat in Baton Rouge.

I’d actually file it under “Is it really that surprising?”
.

There’s something about him not being able to be forced to testify or do something if he’s still an employee. I dunno, I read it somewhere.

Ken, you’re missing the obvious attempt to stick it to Brown and be funny in the process.

It’s simple … they keep him on as a consultant. They ask “what would you do?” … and then do the EXACT opposite. It’s fool proof.

Don’t hate the playa. Hate the game.

Tibbs at least spell correctly in your signature line. “Leporad”?

And “Buy”, not by.

He’s a fine man and he will do a fine job. I know for a fact that he does squats.
