Brand new to the sport and bought an entry level S32 and am looking for advice from the guru’s on worthwhile, hopefully affordable upgrades? Only current upgrade is a HED3 clincher for the front and disc cover for the rear.
Thanks
Sky is the limit, whatever you buy can go onto your next bike
.
FWIW - I’d probably upgrade like this:
Brake levers
Carbon aero bar (I find them a good upgrade and the chances of wrecking are less…so replacement shouldn’t be an issue)
Brake calipers
Dura-ace Rear Der.
This is just a quick looky-see at the S32 specs…but it’s what I found I personally wanted (needed) vs. OEM.
I wouldn’t waste my $$ on a new stem/seat post/Front Der/Cranks/Cassette…unless you really have $$ to spend.
After riding the bike a while - you’ll know if you need new extensions (single bend/lazy s/s/straight) and pads.
I have a 2003 S32 I’ve upgraded the following:
Aero Bar
Base Bar
Bottom Bracket
Rear Wheel to PT
Seat
Brake levers
I’ve replaced the following over that last few years:
Shifters
Rear Deraileur
Brake calipers
Cables and housings
Chains
Respoked front wheel
jaretj
