Make it easy on yourself. Take some super glue and glue a string or thread to the end of the cable (not the housing). Pull your housing over it and cut and grind the housing flat to where you would like it (make sure the string stays in the frame). Re-attach the string and pull the cable through.
It’s a B2, so yes, my understanding is housing runs all the way thru the frame. SRAM Red, 10sp.
I have zip experience with internal cables, same for sram components.
In order to trim a couple inches off the cable/housing on the rear der line, for ex, best method is… ??
release the cable and pull it completely out;
trim whatever length of housing off the shifter end;
trim that same length off the end of the cable and run it back through the shifters-housing-frame;
and
hope the sram rear der is not too finicky
Repeat for rear brake and front derailuer.
That easy? Or, am I missing something? Many somethings?

No need on the Felt’s. They all have internal plumbing so the cables and housing can only enter and exit in the ports in the frame.

Why not wait to trim the cable till after you’ve run it through and connected it to the derailleur. That way you don’t run the risk of cutting it too short.
question on the internal plumbing on a felt b2. if i pull on the external cable housing, does this affect the internal plumbing? or is the internal and external plumbing and housing different? my external cable housing is rusted and smashed pretty bad.
I have a 2008 B2 and the cable housings are single pieces that run all the way through the frame. It was easier than I expected to change them. All I had to do was push the new housing through and it came right out the other end.
depending on how rusted/corroded/smashed it is, you may want to be careful about trying to pull it ous of the top tube. might be better to cut above top tube and pull out from BB area. ie, that triangular metal piece on toptube might get pulled off otherwise depending on corrosion/etc. then you have to reglue it on

If you have a B2 that originally came with mechanical cable routing you should have no problem re-running the housing through the frame. The B2 produced today uses Di2 and as a result there is no guide inside the frame because the e-wires are not rigid enough to “push” through the turns in the downtube to their exit ports. A string and a vacuum help with running Di2. The new EPS system uses a clever magnet to route the wires.
I’ve done it a few times on my 2010 B12 – very easy. A few little tricks here and there but for the most part it is no problem.
If you are having trouble getting the housing into the hole initially, just work it in while twisting slightly (pushing harder doesn’t help but the radial motion seems to).
thanks for the responses. it is a 2008 B2. got the cable housing and cable replaced the other night. there were no issues once i was able to get the old junky piece of housing out.
