No, Virginia Beach, VA and considering what happened to your pal I will give Fat Frogs, my LBS a great ping. I figured they would want something down, but they said, since they were unsure of a delivery date, they wouldn’t charge me anything until they were charged by their regional sales rep for the order. At that point they would want payment in full, but by then, I should know the bike is coming and they haven’t sat on my money for six months. So here-here for Fat Frogs. It’s just they have no updates themselves and I was wondering if anyone had heard any rumors. Thanks for any info.
When I did our preseason, I believe they were hoping for sometime in january to start filling order. I believe first come first serve, so you should be right up there on the list.
I ordered a new B2 thru my LBS. They talked to Felt when they ordered the bike and were told I should get the bike mid to late January.
…so 100% up front is bad?
Get real. The only way you’ll see one in any time is if you pay up front. It’s like buying the hottest Ferrarri. Everybodys queing up for them. we all saw this coming. it is the most popular bike of the new year
I didn’t order a DA, I got the new B2 with the zipps wheel set. I paid in full gladly in return for preferential delivery sooner rather than later.
There are previous posts by me detailing the delivery dates and the reasons for the original delay and staggered delivery of sizes. These bikes have order dates on them back to June, before we even released photos. I have no doubt every bike Felt can make will be sold before it ships. The 56cm DA and B2 will be the first size delivered, and they will show up soon, before Santa Claus does. The 54cm will follow in January. We’ve gone through all the testing and QC, and 54cm, 56cm, 58cm bikes are on the road now. Dealers are taking payments on these bikes, knowing they’ll be given priority on their orders if they are pre-sold to consumers vs. “stocking” orders meant for store display or inventory stock.
I see that you mentioned you are getting the bike from Fat Frogs. I can let them know the delivery date, but as these things are not always written in stone it is hard to provide an exact date. In my time as a retailer I would be very cautious to provide “verified” shipping dates as delays are not uncommon with this industry and the logistics of getting a new product to market.
It is easy for me to ask you to be patient, I know. I sympathize with you however, I’m waiting; like you to get these on the road, to get the word out on how fast this bike is. We’ve got an arsenal of data from SD and MIT tunnel tests and some very exciting athletes jumping ship to get on this bike. The dam is ready to burst, and the wait will be worth it.
