Felt Carbon aero seatpost specs

Hello,
I saw this sp on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/Airo-Pro-Carbon-Aero-Seatpost-FELT-B2-DA-AR-S22-S32_W0QQitemZ180333531636QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCycling_Parts_Accessories?hash=item180333531636&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A1|39%3A1|240%3A1318

I’m assuming its an actual felt post and its for this generation B2. Does anyone know if its the forward or rearward position. Also are single position posts available from felt? Didn’t see them on their website.

Styrrell

from the ebay photo, it looks like the (slightly) rear setback post.

that is a felt post, and it is the std single position. the location is kinda in the middle of the dual position post. I have one of them and your felt dealer can order them.

Any idea on the cost from a dealer?

Styrrell

you sure it’s not meant for the old aluminium Felt DA?

Yup that’s an older generation, tapers, rearward version. One knurled adjuster, one bolt adjustment.

That seatpost looks as though it was the first 100% bladed one that was desigend for the aluminum B2. The overall shape is of similar proportion to the current seatpost, however it is not exactly the same. Further, Felt did not produce seatposts w/o logos nor did we have embossed height or other details on the post itself. I’d be cautious before I used the post in a Felt frame. We have developed new seatposts for 2009 as well as a new shape used in these bikes. They are all similarly shaped, but not compatible with previous generations. If you have an '07 frame and want a standard tri position seatpost, you’ll need FESP-04, if you prefer a rearward UCI-legal or road position on the bike, the FESP-03 is your model. For '09 the shape was changed again for better performance at higher yaw angles. The new shape does not fit in '06, '07, and '08 model bikes. All of the modifications are subtle and result in seatposts with similar dimensions, but if any atttempt is made to interchange them damage to the frame, post, or seat clamp will result.

Hi Dave,

I’m trying to interpret your reply to Styrrell: can you clarify if there are any forward-position posts available that will fit the 2006 B2 frame?

Thanks,

Aaron

yes, FESP-04 will work, as will the forward position on the 3.1 dual position seatpost.

Thanks Dave!

I’m hoping SuperDave can help me too:
I’m trying to find replacement hardware or a replacement seatpost for an 2004ish DA frame:

Are the FESP-03 and FESP-04 still available? If not, any ideas on finding hardware for the seatpost? I’m trying to find the seat rail clamping hardware. Thanks!

FESP-03 and FESP-04 are for 2007 and early 2008 DA and B-series as well as the original 2008 AR Teams. They will not fit your ca 2000-2004 DA
