First of all, I really like this bike. It’s probably way more than I would normally be comfortable spending, but that doesn’t mean I’m not crazy about it.
Anyway, a LBS in the midwest that shall go unnamed has it in stock for $3200. This is I believe the '04 with 10 speed dura-ace, bladed carbon seat post, profile carbon aerobars etc., and zipp 404s. I think that’s the standard component group for the b2, but that seems like an awefully good price. The shop said they got a really good deal on them. Anyone know if that’s below suggested retail?
Really the only way I could get the wife to go along with the purchase is if this is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. I really don’t need the 404s either, so I could, with great remorse, ebay them to recoupe some cost.
On the other hand, maybe I need a big reality check and should go back to dreaming about an S25.

Any shop can beat that price. They just can;t advertise that they can beat that price. As a Felt dealer, we are officially porhibited from advetising the ACTUAL prices we sell their bikes for. We can only ADVERTISE what they approve.
For instance, I know a very local bike shop to me (VERY local) that could beat that price easily by $200. They just can’t advertise it. And they do have it (and every other size) in stock now.
Tom I may take you up on that. If only I could find that local shop you’re talking about. . . .
A major reservation I had with this place was the fit. They are a fantastic road bike shop, but I don’t think they have a lot of expertise with tri fits.
Well, back to plotting how to get this by the wife…
Rather than eBay the Zipps, find a shop that’ll sell you the bike minus the Zipps and add the wheels of your choice (or perhaps none?) and save the cash up front. There are many Felt dealers offering that bike with Zipp 303s, 404s, or 909s in tubular for the same retail price so perhaps you can score a deal on a pair of wheels that you want rather than don’t need.
Go to www.feltracing.com and check out the dealer listings and make the 1/2 dozen phone calls in SE Mich. It won’t take long to find the dealers with a size run of B2s in stock.
Thanks Tibbs, you must know however I have nothing to do with the finished product over there at Felt HQ. A genius at extention 420 does all that. He’s the Troy Lee of Canada and has a long list of sub-contracts painting up pro helmets and the like. Do you remember the pink flowered DA 700 from Interbike 2002? He did that, actually did it twice, there is another similar bike at Felt HQ.
My job is pretty much to take that F60 to Trek dealers and ask them how they are going to sell another Trek.
If you’re in with Felt, can you have someone change how going to the website changes/maximizes your browser? It’s really annoying. I actually make it a point not to go there if at all possible simply because of this and I know that I don’t stand alone in this (I have friends that have bitched about this as well).
Do you use a triple? We do have a F65 as well. Screaming yellow with a double chainring version of the F60 parts kit. It doesn’t appear on the website or in catalogs but it does exsist.
That is the same from on those models as our $1000 AC1 frame. Lots of bike.

Regarding the website, I couldn’t get the trash bags changed at Felt, I’m as low as it gets on that totem pole. If asked about the website, I’ll mention the resizing issue otherwise it is probably best that I stick with my “Please and Thank You” dialogue.
I am in the very early stages of researching a new bike purchase for 2005 - a high end aluminum tri bike. I’ve nailed down a few possibilities now and hope to talk to people who own those makes/models at races this summer. One of my choices is the B2. My question is with the riding position. I am looking for something with a little more aggressive position than my Trek road bike, but I wonder if the B2 would be so radical of a “forward” change that it would be hard for me to get used to. I know you can’t really answer that question without knowing how I ride, and fitting me for the bike, but just wonder in general how the B2 sets up.
